Retired Navy Captain and Flight Surgeon Dave Shiveley ’77 spent more than 30 years caring for Naval aviators and their families. But his decades of military service were prefaced by years of community service and volunteerism, which Dave says started at Saint Michael’s and inspired him and his wife Jeannine to make a generous legacy gift to the College.

Growing up on a farm, Pete was fortunate to have the support of family and neighbors, who encouraged his participation in education and sports. His abilities paid off when he applied to Saint Michael’s and was awarded several small scholarships that made it possible to attend.

Decades ago, during the peak of their professional years, Marius ‘56 and Mildred Péladeau of Readfield, Maine, decided that making a substantial gift to Saint Michael’s through their will would perpetuate their love of learning with future generations of students and secure their own legacy for years to come.
